How to join (it’s easy)
- Apply: Complete the membership form (online or at a club night).
- Visit: Come along to meet the team, see projects, and tour the facilities.
- Induction: Get a quick safety briefing and, if needed, a workshop orientation.
- Get making: Bring a project, or start one with our help.

Volunteering & training
We rely on members to run safe, fun events. Training is provided for:
- Public running days (operations, ticketing, driving/guarding where applicable)
- Workshop supervision and tool inductions
- Track and facility maintenance
- Safety marshals and first-aid (as qualified)

Frequently asked
Do I need my own tools or lathe?
No. Many members start with hand tools and learn as they go. We’ll help you choose sensible first purchases.
Can young people join?
Yes, juniors are welcome with an involved parent/guardian. We offer age-appropriate tasks and mentoring.
I’m not into railways, can I still join?
Absolutely. Boats, cars, engines, robotics, clocks, if it’s engineered, it belongs.
Can I try a meeting first?
Yes, come to a club night as a guest. You’ll get a feel for the people and projects.
